This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, operated by Bits N Pixels.

We keep cookie use deliberately minimal. This site carries no third-party advertising, no cross-site tracking and no social media tracking pixels.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember your actions and preferences between pages and visits. Similar technologies include local storage, which this site uses to remember your light or dark theme preference.

2. Cookies we use

2.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function and are set without consent, as permitted by law.

NamePurposeDuration
bitsnpixels_session Maintains your session so forms and logged-in pages work correctly. 2 hours
XSRF-TOKEN Protects forms against cross-site request forgery. 2 hours
cookie_consent Records your cookie preferences so we do not ask repeatedly. 12 months

2.2 Preferences (local storage)

NamePurposeDuration
bnp-theme Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. Stored in your browser and never sent to our servers. Until cleared

2.3 Analytics

If analytics is enabled and you consent, we use it to understand which pages are useful and where visitors struggle. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them, and IP addresses are anonymised where the provider supports it. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set and no analytics script is loaded.

3. Managing your choices

  • On this site: use the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookie_consent cookie, after which the banner reappears.
  • In your browser: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent forms and logged-in areas from working.

4. Third-party services

Fonts are self-hosted on our own servers specifically so that visiting this site does not disclose your IP address to a font provider. We do not embed third-party advertising or social tracking scripts.

Where a page embeds an external map or video, that provider may set its own cookies. Such embeds are only loaded on pages where they are needed, and are governed by that provider's own policy.

5. Changes

If we add or change cookies we will update this policy and, where required, ask for renewed consent. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
